Here at TMT Farms, we never have as much time as we would like to devote to the 'finer things in life', or so we thought. We work with the horses in the morning, then we go to work (like everyone does!). We both work together at Freedom Metals, Inc. in Charlotte where we sell and fabricate steel. After a long day at work, we drive an hour home and begin our second job, the farm. We love the breeding side of the industry. Of course breeding season is extremely hectic. Trying to get mares ovaries to cooperate with shipping schedules for the semen sometimes is nerve racking. The late night trips to the airport or the multiple vet appointments makes days run together. Add to that the strange foaling hours and then, of course, you have to stay and just watch the miracle of another beautiful baby coming into the world, standing, nursing. Next thing you know it's time to go to work and you forgot to sleep!!
We have been blessed with being able to show some awesome horses and we've been so proud of each and every horse we've shown. Our latest joy is promoting "our" babies in the show ring. We are extremely excited about our foal crop this year and can't wait to see what our stud, Just Another Mystery, will give us in 2008.
We have tried to incorporate some of the best breeding bloodlines in the paint and quarter horse industry today. Every year is a learning experience while we try to refine exactly what we think is the best we can do.
All this being said, you realize that we do truly enjoy the finer things in life. What is more gratifying than watching a newborn foal come into this world and then grow into a beautiful speciman of a show horse. We are very blessed to have the opportunity to enjoy this miracle. We have also been blessed with the many friends we have made while having so much fun with the horses. What more could we ask for?
If you're ever in Marshville, we'd love to have you stop by and visit. We've always got time to talk horses!
